Experience
I attended the University of California-Davis, where I received my bachelor's in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I've tutored writing, reading, and mathematics to elementary, middle, and high school students. I work with students to make sense of what's difficult, and I try to help them gain self-assurance in their studies. I spent time tutoring Math with my younger sister, and I also tutored classmates in undergrad. Additionally, I have organized tutor sessions for small groups. I've worked with tutors myself in my own educational pursuits, and I have come to understand what kinds of things students need in an educator. Educating others is also a learning experience for the tutor. It gives us the opportunity to learn more about ourselves and develop new abilities. It also helps us become more responsive to other people, so we can infuse that responsiveness into our lessons. I'm comfortable tutoring Earth Science, Ethics, Environmental Science, Public Speaking, and Law, in addition to Writing, English, Reading, and Math. I now work as a Civil Engineer. I love to hike, read, box, and kayak in my free time.
